Adang Sea Divers and Eco Lodge is located on the beautiful Koh Lipe Island in Satun province. Located on Sunrise Beach which is famous for it’s amazing SUNSETS! We provide 1 to 3 dives per day to the local islands and surrounding reefs of the Tarutao National Marine Park.
Having a fully equipped speedboat means that we can easily access all the best dive sites throughout the marine park. You can chose to spend your surface interval either on one of our many beaches or hanging out at our dive centre. You can expect overflowing coral gardens and dive sites that will take your breath away. Amazing rare macro-life is abundant among the corals which Lipe is famous for. Whalesharks are more common in recent years along with Green Turtles at the deeper sites.
Adang Sea Eco Lodge is right behind the dive centre on the Beach, therefore only a few step to watch sunrise! It’s a quiet shaded area and they offer free water refills and shampoo for your stay. There are currently three room types at the dive resort including aircon room, fan room and bamboo bungalows. Keep an eye out for low season deals on room + diving packages, and again don’t forget to contact Pee Nok via either website to make a booking!
Benny’s is a great place to try some local delicious Vegetarian food and meet some great people. It’s right on the beach and has farm fresh passion fruit for your smoothies or cocktails! They have done a modern twist with their fusion menu offering homemade delights with meat subsitutes such as marinated tofu and ‘pulled jackfruit’. The staff are so friendly and Benny the dog is their very cute mascot! They have some party nights and also have started a night market on Saturdays which is really cool and unique to the island! Check out their Facebook page for events and food porn!
One of our favourite things to do is wake up for sunrise with a coffee before the dive. Hike to Adang Island’s magnificant viewpoint (wear sensible footwear!) or to sunset point. Snorkel from the beach to nearby island Koh Kra, or rent a kayak or SUP from Adang Sea to explore.
When you are not diving or exploring, yoga with Keirita’s Yoga is a must do on the island. Keira is an experienced yoga and scuba teacher, who conducts classes in beautiful ocean front locations or in her peaceful yoga studio.
Koh Lipe has a rich history and the indigenous ‘Urak Lowai’ or ‘Sea Gypsy’s’ live in their village near the dive centre. The locals are happy to share stories with you and it’s fascinating to learn about their history. You may see them out on the dive sites using their unique fishing methods passed down through generations.
Koh Lipe is located near the Thai border by Malaysia, in fact there is a ferry service to Langkawi from the island in high season so it’s a good stopping off point before Malaysia. Therefore expect 5-6 hours by speedboat ferry (from Phi Phi). Alternatively you can take a bus from Krabi if you prefer to go by land however there is a short speedboat ride from Pakbara Pier to get there.
OVERLAND: Take a ferry from Phi Phi to Krabi (2 hrs) then minibus(4 hrs) to Langu. The minibus is cheap and the trip is scenic and an easy drive, however you will need to spend a night in Krabi our Langu if you go overland in order to make the ferry. Our guests love to stop at Krabi for the night to enjoy the local night market. Alternatively, Langu is a beautiful small town in the south that is definitely worth a stop to visit some local farms.
BY SPEEDBOAT: From Phi Phi you can take a speedboat at 9am arriving around 2pm to the island. It is longer on wavy days and so it is not suitable for everyone. It gets you there quicker but often it can be an endurance test! On calm days it’s a quicker trip and very smooth ride
The cost depends on the time of year and also which method you travel. The speedboat will be 1,600 THB – 2,000 THB depending on the company. The minivan option with ferry from Phi Phi including speedboat to Koh Lipe would cost 2,000 THB also. There is a National Park entrance fee when you arrive to Koh Lipe which is 200 THB per person and you should keep your ticket with you for the duration of your stay.
PACKAGES: We can offer our divers a better transfer rate to travel between both locations. In fact the multi-day diving discounts are valid over both of our dive shops! Contact us or Adang Sea Divers to book your trip through “Pee Nok” our amazing travel agent and owner.
A beautiful, natural eco-resort is opning soon next to Adang Sea Divers, and with the same ethos and brains behind the dive shop. One of the oldest Sea Gypsy houses on the island, they have kept the charm of the original building. Hideaway has beautiful shaded wooden rooms ‘hidden’ just a few metres from Sunrise beach and about 100 metres from Adang Sea. One of the best local food spots ‘Thai Thai’ is thier neighbour and with a workspace & Vegetarian coffee shop opening attached, it will be a cool place to visit.
Being part of the same company discounts apply at both our locations. If you complete your course at one shop you will receive discounts on fun dives and courses at the other location.
Love diving? Receive 10% discount on three or more days of diving over both locations.
